SE Asia sounded too exotic for us, but curiosity overcame the doubts. What were we waiting for? Thailand has been open to tourism for a long time and the other countries on the peninsula (Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam) are becoming destinations as well. The more eco-tourists visit, the more likely these countries will preserve wilderness areas and the animals that draw them… rather than turning over these areas to extractive industries. SE Asians are very hospitable and will do their best to help foreigners. The strange and visible wildlife, underwater wonders, and cultural monuments of Thailand will thrill the adventurous.
It’s not difficult to travel on one’s own with a little preparation and information provided in the DVD. We cover north and south Thailand, with side trips to Laos and the world heritage center; Angkor Wat of Cambodia. There are so many places to go and things to see, you’ll have to choose. The focus of the dvd is how to travel on your own safely within your comfort level. Run time; 1 hour
